Xiaomi is commemorating its 10th anniversary with the launch of new products including scooters, phones, and more. The most intriguing of them is the new Mi TV LUX Transparent Edition. It is the world’s first mass-produced transparent TV with complete see-through, self-luminous display transmitting images that appear to be suspended in the air.
When this particular TV is turned off, it looks like a glass display. Unlike, conventional TVs that house their connections and processors in the back panel, Mi TV LUX Transparent Edition includes all these elements within its circular base stand. With this unique transparent TV, the company ushers a fresh take on how consumers will watch their favorite content at home.
Besides its futuristic design, the Xiaomi TV also features flagship-level hardware. The 55-inches transparent OLED panel TV boasts a claimed 150000:1 static contrast ratio and an infinite dynamic contrast ratio. Moreover, its 10-bit panel displays around 1.07 billion colors that are beyond what human eyes can perceive.
For low latency gaming and clearer motion, the TV also has 120Hz MEMC technology and touts a 120Hz refresh rate. Going a little deeper into its design and technicality, this TV uses more than 20 algorithms and dedicated optimization for at least five different use-case scenarios for creating impeccable picture quality.
This TV also supports AI Master for Audio that allows it to detect what type of content is playing, as well as lets you choose a fitting audio mode from the given list spanning music, sports, newsfeed, movies, etc. Furthermore, it also has the Dolby Atmos support onboard.
Mi TV LUX Transparent Edition runs custom-made MIUI for TV. This means that its home page My App and setting are all intentionally designed for a better demonstration of the visual features on the transparent screen. The operating system of the device also supports an Always-On feature, which enables users to customize display texts and images when they’re not watching the TV.
