On March 23rd Xiaomi welcomed their new product in the series of Mi TV by describing it as the ‘king of cost-effective.’ The new Mi TV 2 is a 40-inch wide and 14.5 mm thin full HD LED Smart TV, which is a smaller variant of their 49-inch Mi TV launched last year.
The new Mi TV 2 sports a Sharp SDP X-GEN panel with a 5000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, a Cortex-A9 quad-core 1.45GHz CPU and 1.5GB of RAM. The MIUI OS is based on Android 4.4 KitKat but is upgradeable to 5.0 Lollipop.
The new Mi TV 2 is an entertainment hub for gaming geeks as graphics run on MStar 6A908 Cortex A9 quad-core and Mali 450 MP4 $+2-core GPU. The committed storage for running apps on the television is 8GB.
Mi TV 2 features virtual surround sound with help of embedded Dolby MS12 sound surround for better sound output, and supports all video formats including RM, FLV, AVI, MKV, TS and MP4 with H.265 10- bit HEVC (high efficiency video coding).
To take TV-viewing experience to the next level, Xiaomi is investing $1 billion and partnering with several Chinese content providers to offer 240,000 hours of online content to its consumers. Available at an ultra-affordable price of $322, Xiaomi is bringing home a game arcade and entertainment hub with all lively and attention-grabbing colors.
