The specialized projector brand XGIMI has unveiled a concept product named Ascend at CES 2025 that will surely catch your eye with its unique functionality in the modern home. The company showcases its futuristic approach to home entertainment with the product. It is a combination of a 100-inch motorized Ambient Light Rejection (ALR) screen and two Harman Kardon soundbars, packed in a compact design to elevate the home entertainment experience.
Ascend pairs with XGIMI’s latest AURA 2 ultra short throw 4K projector in order to let the user create a home cinema setup effortlessly. The projector featuring an Auto Lens Cover with motorized wing-like doors that open and close automatically matches the theme of this creative product.
As AURA 2 comes with built-in 60W Harman Kardon speakers with Dolby Atmos support, Ascend will serve as an alternative audio output option, elevating the home cinema experience even more. However, XGIMI has revealed no details about the sound output of the Ascend.
The only thing we can assume for now is that Ascend will be more powerful. If not, then what is the point of having built-in soundbars inside the ALR screen casing? It’s still a concept product so we can surely expect some improvements in the future.

One positive highlight is that it will be unlike normal TVs as it comes with a motorized design that hides the ALR screen from plain sight when not in use. It will look like a furniture piece when the ALR screen is retracted. Moreover, you will not need a dedicated wall – rather set up your home theater anywhere with just the space to accommodate Ascend.
