You must have heard about wooden speakers or probably own one but have you encountered a wooden projector? The handmade LightBoks is created by Danish music accessories company Openhagen which claims it to be the world’s only wooden video projector. It is made from sustainably sourced materials such as black-stained oak with walnut speaker grills and walnut with oak grills.

With LightBoks wooden projector, a user gets an enhanced viewing experience with easy setup and seamless connectivity. The device can be connected to Wi-Fi and also mirror a mobile device. It promises stunning visuals and superior audio, recommended for gaming, movies, and entertainment by the company. It also supports AirPlay and Bluetooth.

LightBoks projector is compatible with macOS, Android, and iOS. It also features built-in Netflix and app downloads for non-stop entertainment.

The LightBoks is packed with a patent-pending innovation that involves flipping the projector 90° for a full-screen vertical display about 3.5x larger than other projectors. The company says that users will see no black bars using this feature, which means a seamless projection of phone videos, Instagram reels, TikTok videos, and YouTube short videos to keep you occupied in your spare time.

Another remarkable feature of the LightBoks wooden projector is that its square shape allows you to transform your ceiling into a personal cinema and you can enjoy watching videos or movies lying on your bed in a comfortable posture, which might be awkward for some people. If you are one of them, you can stick with the normal projection on the walls.

It offers a projection area ranging from 42 to 180 inches. LightBoks has a native resolution of 1080p and supports 4K content. It also features an integrated 5W stereo sound system, can mirror content from Wi-Fi-connected devices, and boasts a luminance of 300 ANSI lumens.

LightBoks wooden projector has been successfully funded on Kickstarter and comes with add-ons like a stand, bag, and screen. The projector has a power cable, remote control, and start guide. It weighs 2.3 kg and is easy to carry around. Priced at $550 for early birds, the production for the wooden projector has begun and shipping will start after July 2024. An all-oak version is also available in the natural white color of the wood.
