Airstream's parent company Thor Industries in collaboration with EV manufacturer Harbinger has launched world’s first hybrid class-A motorhome
Built on Harbinger's electric medium-duty chassis with space for up to three to six 35kWh batteries, the demo vehicle offers 500 miles of range!
The hybrid chassis is powered by an electric motor and 140-kWh battery pack that is recharged by a low-emissions gasoline range extender while being driven
The hybrid RV comes with 800-volt electrical architecture for rapid charging at DC Fast Charger
The batteries can also be charged via solar power
According to the company, the RV’s electric powertrain delivers up to twice the torque of a diesel engine
Other highlighting features are double-wishbone front suspension, steer-by-wire system, and Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) for safe, smooth ride
Thor hybrid RV will be available for purchase in 2025
