Sustainability can be part of every product, and Japanese company NOMURA Group proves it right through the Material Record project

Following the theme of  "material = earth's resources”,  the R&D project is focused on finding and creating material possibilities for construction and interior industries

The first product from the project, noon speaker uses nine different sustainable materials derived from construction waste, discarded plastic, denim scraps, retired fuel tanks, and food waste

The food waste-based material is even noticeable on the speaker through its scent

Another interesting material is the copper plate that formed patina in just six hours

It consists of six speakers with different frequency bands and a vacuum tube amplifier

The noon speaker features a modular pillar design inspired by architecture that comes with parts you need to stack over each other

It gathers attention to environment through its sculptural design and sounds emitted through recycled materials
