French architect and designer Joris Poggioli has renovated his apartment, in a mansion that was once Napoleon Bonaparte's office, using contemporary elements
The project highlights the elegance of the past while embracing his modern style
He has preserved few original details and made significant improvements to modernize the space flowing otherwise with the grandeur of Napoleon-era architecture
The 4.2-metre-high ceiling is the striking aspect of the apartment, which has a revamped flooring and a mezzanine-like upper floor.
Joris improved the bedroom of this 90-sqm apartment with fireplace, mirror and oversized black lacquered headboard
The custom-made stainless steel island adds a focal point to the kitchen
The dining area features a large black table with matching chairs
Even the bathroom furniture is customized to complement the past look
Poggioli has also designed lighting fixtures for the apartment
