FORMWORK project by Swiss design studio Gini Moynier tells how discarded wood can be turned into treasure
This furniture collection takes the job of treating the discarded wood from the construction industry as a valuable raw material
The spruce wood comes from dismantled buildings, while the oak comes from dismantled roof beams
The collection uses a combination of lighter spruce and dark oak wood for a unique patchwork layout
Each piece utilizes spruce as a vertical structural element and the oak wood is placed horizontally
The collection comprises three pieces a chair, a side table and a wall-mounted shelf
All these pieces are inspired by structural volumes used to mold concrete panels
The chair re-imagines classic seating designs in contemporary context, with a low back and high armrests
The side table is hollow from the inside, allowing you to store books or magazines
Truly the wall-mounted shelf is a sculptural object that will look great in any setting
This limited edition furniture collection is developed for the Nov Gallery in collaboration with IKEA Foundation Switzerland
