Bugatti has partnered with former test driver Pierre-Henri Raphanel to recreate the iconic ‘Baby’ Type 52 through a series of 99 unique art sculptures for collectors
Redesigned through his company Nations Racing Legends, these art pieces are created by studying the plans and production techniques of the original ‘Baby’ Type 52
Modeled after the Bugatti Type 35 Grand Prix racing car, it was created by Ettore Bugatti in 1926 as a small electric car for his son, Roland
Master artisans from around France have spent about 200 hours crafting the chassis from steel sheets, the body from aluminum sheets and the radiator and control panel from brass sheets
The 350×55 clincher tires match the original’s tread size, profile, block count, depth, and patterns
The seat and backrest are crafted with a beechwood frame, upholstered with linen fabric and horsehair, and covered in luxurious leather
The accelerator pedal has 43 parts, and the forward/reverse switch has 50, all made from materials like aluminum, copper, and brass
The hand-cut leather straps with rounded edges and formoir lines are secured with hand-struck copper and aluminum rivets
The Short Wheel Base chassis, with a 122 cm wheelbase and 182 cm length, is the rarest model, scaled to half the size of the Type 35
Each piece is individually numbered, with 60 available for custom colors and 12 "Silver Legends" editions, including eight in mirror-polished aluminum
Starting at €95,000 about ($102,461), these sculptures celebrate Bugatti’s heritage and artistry in an entirely new form
