Gorgeous would be an underexpression to describe the Wave tiny house designed by Movable Roots Tiny Homes. The Florida-based tiny house manufacturer has custom-designed the house from scratch for a family that sold their standard foundation home in Minnesota and moved to Florida.
The client wanted their tiny home not only to be functional but also aesthetically appealing: one that exudes a coastal vibe in particular. As a result, Movable Roots made a micro dwelling that boasts an exterior featuring coastal-themed metal and cedar shake siding. This idea is evident in the color scheming as well, which largely comprises blue and sandy hues splattered all over the exterior.
In addition to metal and cedar finish, the tiny house also features a 20-foot wide awning that will protect from pinching sunrays and enhance the client’s family’s enjoyment in the Florida summer. Interestingly, there is a custom-designed storage area on the outside that has been specifically designed to store two kayaks.
Though the exterior is one major talking point of the home, the interior doesn’t fail to amaze either. The tiny house’s interior is light-filled with multiple skylights, windows, and a large glazing door. Upon entering, you’d be graced by a spacious living room that can accommodate a sofa and table. There is a television mounted on the wall that faces the windows allowing the room to be more airy.
Adjacent is the kitchen space, which is not very capacious, to be honest, it is both functional and well-designed. Boasting plenty of storage through drawers, cabinets, and shelves, the tiny house stocks all sorts of essentials from accessories to supplies. The kitchen is stocked with a range of appliances from a large fridge to a microwave.

The tiny house features a loft bedroom and a master bedroom. The loft bedroom sleeps two and can be reached via a floating staircase rising from the living room while the main-floor bedroom can be accessed via a sliding door from the living room. The main bedroom also sleeps a couple of people in its queen-size bed with custom cabinetry above it and loads of closet space.
There was a time when not much attention was paid to the bathroom of a tiny house but in recent years we’ve seen many tiny house manufacturers, including Acorn Tiny Homes, make the bathroom area spacious and equip it with the best features possible. Continuing with the trend, Movable Roots Tiny Homes has outfitted the Wave tiny house with a shower, custom tiles, a stackable washer and dryer, and a vanity that blends well with the house’s coastal theme.

If you think that’s all, no we still got something left. The client also wanted the makers to attach a litter box that can be placed in the vanity cabinet base. The bathroom in fact features a custom cat door which provides easy access for the client’s feline to move on and out.
To ensure the place doesn’t smell of cat litter, an additional vent fan has been incorporated to remove any odor. If you also want these mind-boggling and mouth-watering features in a tiny package, the Wave tiny house starts at $155,000.
