I have really been fascinated by the idea of extracting water from ambient humidity. In fact, I have tried my hands at a portable atmospheric water generator (AWG) using a small exhaust fan, copper coil, and a solar panel. I did manage to generate water from air, but of course failed miserably in terms of efficiency and volume. Genesis with its WaterCube has been able to extract high volumes of water directly from air and now it is bringing the product to our homes, helping us produce up to 100 gallons of fresh drinking water daily only from the air around.
WaterCube100 (WC-100) is a compact, IoT-enabled home appliance, debuted at the CES 2024. Designed to be a sustainable water source for households, generating water without pollutants and hazardous bi-products, WC-100 is fully automated and off grid solution. It will help reduce reliance on traditional water sources, which are already on the brink of extinction for 40 percent of the world population, leading to a surge in safe drinking water crisis.
The WaterCube 100 being able to produce drinking water directly from the air can do it in a form factor the size of an HVAC unit and by using far less energy and operational cost than any other water generation systems. Being ideal for a family of four, the system can generate water in low humidity and even in low temperatures, which I am sure similar AWGs don’t match up. It operates efficiently in ambient humidity ranges of 40-100 percent and temperature of greater than 59-degree Fahrenheit.
Given the relative humidity hovers around 60 percent and the environment around maintains 80 degrees Fahrenheit, the WaterCube 100 can generate 100 gallons of clean drinking water for you, operating through 24 hours. According to Genesis, the WaterCube 100 features “0.01 micrometers changeable water filter, UV treatment, Merv 13 Air Filter” to carry out the water generation and filtration process so you get the freshest and cleanest water – that meets international water quality standards – possible every day.

Given its size and utility, the WaterCube 100 is going to find definite inclusion in the mobile home market, which already has some iterations of atmospheric water generator on them. While model should be ideal for a family of four on their tiny home; a bigger households can use a few WC-100 units together to meet their water requirements. A viable answer to looming water scarcity we face, the WC-100 with IoT controls also allow you to keep tabs on the water quality it produces over the WaterCube App.
The WaterCube (WC-100) model is now available for pre-order at the official website for a price tag of $19,995.
