Malaysian actors Zahirah Macwilson and Aiman Hakim Redza’s wedding held a few weeks back has garnered a lot of limelight the world over. Reason is absolutely swanky – the couple celebrated their special day by cutting an upside-down cake that was lowered from the ceiling at the reception in Petaling Jaya near Kuala Lumpur.
The chandelier-esque wedding cake was designed and created by Kuala Lumpur-based Lily & Lola bakery to idealize actress and model Zahirah’s wish of a wedding cake hanging above the head.
Made with lots of whipped cream, the vanilla flavored cake was decorated with crystal droplets. It was prepared in a week and took about an hour to hang up like a chandelier. Lily & Lola worked closely with wedding planners Mahligai Creative who helped with the installation.
Co-owner of the bakery, Lily Osman told Malaysia’s New Straits Times,
It’s an idea that my sister Alya and I have been thinking about since 2017. Aiman’s and Zahirah’s wedding became our golden opportunity to put it into practice as it fitted their Rustic wedding theme.

Such artistic wedding cakes cost more than RM10,000 about ($2,400), depending on the shape and size, the cake designer added.
