England is dotted with enchanting cottages designed in different architectural styles of various eras. Embodying the distinct style of the Tudor Era (1485-1603), the Tudor House is a tiny home on wheels that instantaneously evokes a sense of whimsy and fantasy. Adept in the customization of dream homes, Oregon-based home builder Tiny Heirloom created the Tudor Tiny House to transport viewers back in time, paying an ode to an era long gone.
The unorthodox custom design captured the wild imagination of the client, Jenn James with a one-of-a-kind tiny house. With English cottage-inspired architecture, the charismatic dwelling has a Tudor-style exterior paired with a fanciful interior to offer an old-world charm.
The exterior of the 27-foot-long tiny home features a steeply pitched gabled roof, half-timbering, elegant masonry, and exquisite wood beams set in stucco to fully embody the historical style. The roof comprises composite shingling with multiple gables. Two arched top windows and an imposing two-panel mahogany entrance with a dragon door knocker are absolutely fantastical and have a magical allure.
If you think the tiny house’s exterior is impressive, wait till you get a peek inside. The interior is filled with highly contrasting materials clad in Tudor era-specific colors to create a custom fantasy look. Comprising a small living room, a cozy kitchen, a fireplace, a spa-like bathroom, and a master loft, every nook and cranny is both cozy and charming.
The front door opens into the small area designated as the living room. It features a corner fireplace with a traditional exposed black chimney vent and solid oak mantel, open shelving, a cozy chair and ottoman, and a multipurpose table with claw legs next to a huge storage cabinet. The galley kitchen features purple cabinets, colored mosaic tiles, a rough-edged granite countertop, a refrigerator, a ventilation hood, a three-burner stove, and an oven.
A steel spiral staircase from the kitchen galley leads to the master loft with a double bed. Arched windows, a skylight, and a locally-sourced handcrafted twig railing introduce a rustic, cottage-core aesthetic. Next to the stairs is a washing machine, along with a coat hanging area and shoe rack.
On the rear end, a spa-like bathroom covers your sanitation needs. It consists of veneer slate tiled floor and walls with an arched pop-out for the vanity sink and a copper claw-foot soaking bathtub to add to the fairytale narrative of the house. The Tudor House by Tiny Heirloom is proof that tiny living doesn’t mean you have to compromise on architectural elements of your heart’s desire.
