Downsizing in a mobile home is all about being surrounded by what makes you happy and comfortable, even in a limited space. Desiree, who lives in a 2019 Keystone Raptor 423 Toy Hauler with her husband and kid has outfitted this mobile home with amenities for full-time living and traveling. Besides modern amenities, she has used wood valances, plants, wooden shelves, and hanging lights to make this toy hauler RV feel like a true home.
After thorough research, Desiree and her husband managed to buy an RV for $72,000 and further upgraded by Desiree herself for approximately $5,000. The exterior comes with with a fold-down deck for spending some quality time with family; the deck also lowers into a ramp to pull up any small vehicle.
Another stunning feature is the outdoor kitchen space integrated in a bump-out part with a mini fridge, drawers for storage, and slide-out solo stove that makes for a great gathering spot. Weather and power issues got nothing on them, as the front of the RV has a robust generator and two 30-gallon propane tanks.
The homely interior complements the robust exterior in a lovely way. Boasting 426 square feet of living space, which has been well renovated and maintained, the interior has a U-shaped kitchen, living area, full bathroom, kid’s room (which also doubles as storage and laundry room), and a gooseneck master bedroom.
According to Desiree, the kitchen has been the most important part for her. It has a U-shaped countertop doubling as dining table, black painted under-counter cabinets, and white painted overhead cabinets. There is a faucet with triple filtration system that provides them with fresh water all the time. It features a cooktop, a microwave, and an apartment size refrigerator. The blinds, wood valances, tiled backsplash, and stick and peel tiles on the kitchen floor make for adorable additions. The tiny loft above the kitchen has an extra storage space.

The living room is adjacent to the kitchen and has been designed with comfort at heart for a great family time. It is snug with recliner sofas with mug holders, a live-edge coffee table, wooden shelves, a fireplace, and a TV for cozy movie nights. The pantry is in the living room instead of the kitchen, perfect example of saving and utilizing the space. Overall, the space feels very cozy with hanging plants, lights, and natural light coming in.
Leading from the living room through a small flight of stairs is a bathroom. The bathroom complements the aesthetic outside. The mirror is upgraded with lights and conceals a medicine cabinet behind it. The shower is renovated along with the sink and faucet. There is a separate space for toilet with cabinets for storing toiletries and an adorable feature shelf with cute decoration. There are vents and skylight in the bathroom for natural lighting.
Adjacent is the cozy bedroom. The space feels like a giant hug with the renovations done with wooden valances, white painted cabinets, air conditioner, décor, door knobs on the door, and a furon TV. The room has a queen-size bed that is storage integrated with ample space for their clothes. Another fun feature is the wall hooks to hang bags. One of the best thing is that the bathroom has an access from the bedroom as well, enclosed with a barn sliding door.

The garage space of the toy hauler RV is their son Maxton’s room. Being homeschooled, he has his designated workspace where he studies and plays. His workspace also becomes Desiree’s workstation for creating content. Above the workplace is a comfy ceiling bed that can be lifted up and down with a push of a button, accessible via a ladder. The multipurpose room is a bedroom, a work room, and with a set of sofa and a table under the bed, it becomes a hangout room with an outdoor view.
At one corner of the room there is an LG washer-dryer unit that perfectly fits into the space without taking up too much room. The room leads to the fold-down patio that is the most picturesque part of their toy hauler RV. Desiree recommends to all RV lifestyle enthusiasts who want to live in such a setup full-time to do the due research before switching and not to skimp on space.
