Paris-based renowned designer Jean-Marie Massaud has created a unique sofa-cum-shelter for German furniture house Dedon. The hybrid sofa-cum-shelter by Massaud is an idyllic outdoor furniture that offers comfort and versatility at the same time. Entitled Tigmi, the unique piece of furniture beautifully exhibits minimal arrangement ideal for enjoying outdoor environment.
Sofa with detachable roof is specially designed for outdoors and cleverly mimics an arbour. Detachable roof is made from pla leaves to offer a relaxing environment, while generously spacious sitting space can easily accommodate multiple people. Handwoven and crafted by the master weavers of Dedon, the sofa comes with set of base cushions for seat, back and side made by Batyline fabrics.
To make the sofa more environmentally friendly, cushions are made from quick-drying, easy-to-clean polyester material with exceptional resistance to tearing and outdoor conditions like, rain, cold, and UV-light exposure. The sofa can be transformed into a daybed, allowing two people to enjoy nap in the lap of nature thanks to its deep seating system and spacious design.
Fabricated with highest standards of quality and design, each piece is manufactured under the supervision and guidance of braiding artisans on the island of Cebu in Philippines; thus, showcasing a perfect blend of international design and century-old craftsmanship. Ideal for personal as well as commercial use, the hybrid version of sofa offers comfort, intimacy and practicality.
