Tom Spina Designs are well known for their impressive designs, especially niche furniture. In the past, they caught our attention with the Pacific Rim coffee table and Star Wars-inspired coffee tables (Millennium Falcon and Wampa-themed) or the scary Boba Fett table, and now they have got some inspiration from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The talented team at the design company has come up with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles-inspired desk for one of their clients.
Unlike other custom-made desks builds, this one is quite expressive and extensive in its look. Adopting the Teenage Mutant Ninja theme for a desk was not easy, and it shows, as Tom Spina put a lot of work into the look. Of course, the final functional design is purely based on the client’s requirements, the overall budget, functionality of the desk, and the design possibilities for the team.
In this case, the client wanted a sit-stand station with ample space to sit comfortably. The only option was to tinker with the front look of the custom-made desk. So, they went onto making the sketches with the client’s input, and lead artist Rich Riley got down to create the framework from wood and construction tubing. To give it a rustic look (reminiscent of the TMNT) Rich added faux stone texture, faux bricks, valves, and spouts. Adding to the details, he then added pipe, tubing, and knobs to create underwater sewer-like landscaping.
In the end, it turned out to be an eye-catchy desk design that looks exactly like a scene from the TMNT movie. Have a look at it in the pictures.
