Belgian designer Raf Simons and Danish textile company Kvadrat have this time come up with the new Shaker System and a range of accessories. It is a streamlined wall storage solution that’s influenced by Shaker culture – America’s first modern design language. This new storage system is basically a simple wall-mounted unit that stores various small items sporting the similar color. Believe it or not, it makes functionality appear as art.
What is Shaker System?
According to Simons, he wanted to create something that can be well-defined in any space and works even in a small apartment. The final result is The Shaker System, a simple yet elegant wall-mounted unit designed to hold your essentials and other accessories. You can hang your tote bag, key chain, shopping bags, pillows, soft woolen throws, a mirror tray, magazines, and other accessories.
Design
This horizontal storage bar is upholstered in Vidar, an emblematic fabric from the Kvadrat/Raf Simons collection that unifies the whole system and gives it a cool look. The accessories coming with the system are also created in the same color to ensure uniformity in the interior space.
Innovative Storage
Simons has designed The Shaker System inspired by his struggles of creating a “homely” vibe everywhere he moves. He wanted to visualize the future living through design cues of the past. the storage system is great for people who love minimalist living and often move a lot for work.

“More than ever the home is the absolute center of our lives, and I wanted to create a system that would change it for the better. I am trained as an industrial designer, just putting out beautiful products was not enough. I wanted to conceive something relevant to how we live today.” Raf Simons said.
