It’s because the real-life location where the Hobbit trilogy was shot is now available for rental. And I don’t mean just sightseeing but sleeping like an actual hobbit, in the original Hobbiton set is possible.
As mentioned on Airbnb and covered by my friends in the blogosphere, The One-and-Only Hobbiton can be booked for three two-night stays for a maximum of four guests at a time. To make things crystal clear for our lovely readers, you can either choose to stay between (March 2-4, March 9-11, and March 16-18, 2023). However, you need to book your stay in advance on 13 December 2022.
What makes this Airbnb so special? You’d be an orc to not cotton on to the beauty of the location. Located in Matamata, Waikato, New Zealand, the hobbit hole features cozy overnight accommodation. There are two bedrooms featuring one queen-sized bed and the other two king-sized single beds. Apart from enjoying a private tour of the Hobbiton movie set, guests will also have access to the 44 hobbit holes, The Millhouse, and the Green Dragon Inn.
You’d obviously be fed with a feast (evening banquet) featuring beef and ale stew, whole roast chickens, freshly baked bread, and plenty of ale, plus Second Breakfast and Elevenses served daily. All this is being done to celebrate the 10th anniversary of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.
