I am listening to Taylor Swift’s “Invisible String” as I write this. Yes, I am a Swiftie. Guilty as charged. So naturally when I came across an article about a vacation rental in Tennessee where Taylor Swift and Dolly Parton recorded their award-winning music, it immediately piqued my interest. But that wasn’t my sole motivation behind writing about it. The moment I looked at the pictures of The Manor at Dark Horse Estate I was sold. The architecture, the surrounding views, and the interior, everything is simply flawless and alluring.
Dark Horse Estate in Franklin, Tennessee, is a 1993 private recording studio that hosts three Airbnbs on a 10-acre property, including the large mansion The Manor, and smaller lodging like the Gatehouse and Bunkhouse. The estate has hosted musical legends like Swift and Parton.
The Manor at Dark Horse Estate is an expansive mansion with seven bedrooms, offering accommodation for up to 18 overnight guests at once. It is perfect for large groups such as corporate meets, yoga workshops, reunions, songwriting camps, and other creative collaborative gatherings. The Manor and surrounding estate property provides an immersive environment to envision, dream, relax, and create. Probably why many singers have lodged here.
The Manor is only five miles west of Franklin’s historic town square and 25 minutes from downtown Nashville. Its location offers beautiful sunsets and lush landscapes rolling around the private sanctuary, making it an exclusive destination. So it was no surprise that a two-night stay at The Manor, which is 14,000 square feet, would cost me around $6,000.
The interior is no short of spectacular. Upon entering, at the foyer is a 34-foot fireplace next to a grand pianoforte which may just transport you to fancy settings of Jane Austen’s novels. The Manor has seven bedrooms, ten bathrooms, three kitchens, two living areas, a games room, a library, a media room, and even a party barn.
Each room is meticulously designed with attention to detail, fusing natural materials like stone and wood for a larger-than-life aesthetic. Each space has immersive views pouring in through the floor-to-ceiling windows. There is even a copper bathtub in one of the bathrooms, truly adding to its hype.

If you get a chance to spend a night or two at The Manor at Dark Horse Estate, you will find yourself in good company.
There are plenty of activities and outdoor spaces to explore as well. The property is pet-friendly but you’ll have to follow certain rules.
