Inspired by Styrofoam’s unique characteristic to change shape according to pressure applied on it, Seoul-based designer Donghwan Song in collaboration with Fountain Studio has come up with a unique furniture concept.
Called TAMABLE chair, this is designed on the lines of being flexible and adaptable. According to the designer, it will make users feel as if the chair was constantly changing shape under them.
The Tamable Chair is manufactured by processing EPS (Expandable Polystyrene) using CNC equipment, which makes the uncommon pattern on the chair possible, which at the first glance resembles a radiator.
Designers behind this unique chair for the indoors have worked on the simple idea that the users will gradually give a perfect shape to the seat. At first, it may feel unfamiliar sitting on it but over a period of time, it will optimize to the user’s body shape and then feel immensely comfortable.
