Tiny houses are mostly born out of necessity catering to individuals seeking affordable housing solutions while downsizing their footprint. They were later aptly turned into rentals by seasoned rental businesses. Both these set-ups require a balance of craft and utility that cannot be ignored. A perfect example of this delicate equilibrium is the Tahi tiny house on Airbnb in Tamahere, New Zealand.
Designed by builder Heart & Soul Tiny Homes in New Zealand in 2020, the Tahi is being used as a modern vacation rental but also can be custom-ordered as a full-time residence. It is well equipped with modern amenities and features wooden interiors with a living room, kitchen, two lofts, and bathroom. A gas-strut window from the kitchen overlooks the deck maintaining an ideal indoor-outdoor flow.
Outswing French doors pave the way to the living area of this tiny house. Exuding a warm and comfortable vibe, two church windows pour natural light into the living room. The left side serves as the kitchen and master loft bedroom while on the right side, you will spot a bathroom and second loft. The house can sleep three adults comfortably.
A U-shaped kitchen is large enough to make space for a gas hob, fridge, toaster, kettle, and microwave. It has plenty of cabinets and open shelves to manage kitchen essentials and also has two bar stools for sitting. Wooden stairs run nearby to take one up to the main loft which has a window and some storage space. It has a queen-size bed under a skylight for dreamy stargazers.
