There are many stainless steel straws available in the market but cleaning and carrying them can be tricky. Penna straw is a four pieces short stainless steel straw, which is easy to carry and clean. In a bid to reduce the amount of disposable plastic straws that end up in oceans, household appliances company Elretron has created the very portable Penna straw.
Penna straw is the world’s first stainless steel straw with UV sterilization system. The multi-use straw comprises four detachable straws, making it easy to carry and clean. At the end of each short piece of the straw, a strong magnet is applied for quick assembly and use. After the use, users can to detach the straw and put each piece back in the case.
It has a special case with four brushes to clean each individual short piece and features UV light to kill germs. As soon as the lid of the case is closed, the UV LED lights up to keep the straw clean within.

The Penna straws can be cleaned effortlessly by putting water in the case, closing the lid, and shaking it so that straws automatically move back and forth between the brushes. After cleaning, the water can be drained out through a hole at the bottom of the case.
Each straw carries a silicone tip at one end to protect the teeth. The stainless steel Penna straw will be available in four beautiful colors – white, black, olive green, and baby pink. Since portability is one of its biggest advantages, makers have created an exclusive pouch to carry the Penna straw in its case.
Penna straw is up on Kickstarter for crowd-funding where it has gone past its $10,000 goal in under one day. The super early birds can get a straw for $29 with estimated shipping in April 2020.

Check postings on Kickstarter. This straw leaks, doesn’t charge, the case doesn’t stay closed and it is generally crap. Contact customer support and they’ll tell you it’s designed that way (if they even bother replying). Oh, and it was over a year late.
