Modern Tiny Living (MTL) is one of the world’s most established tiny house makers. The Ohio-based firm has built over a hundred dwellings and is still going strong. The company’s recent creation that has been garnering traction on my social feed is the 24-foot-long Shadow tiny house. Poised on a double-axle trailer, the Shadow is built on a custom Kokosing trailer, ensuring the home is level and easy to tow.
The exterior of the mobile home elevates the micro-dwelling’s aesthetic. The LP Vertical Smart Siding offers a sleek, industrial look that is durable and low-maintenance. Complementing the exterior, the black steel roof provides long-lasting protection against the elements, while adding to the home’s contemporary aesthetic.
Inside, the tiny house features poplar tongue-and-groove interior walls and rich LVT flooring. The layout of the home is practical and stylish, with a focus on maximizing space without sacrificing comfort. As is the case with most MTL dwellings, Shadow tiny house also features a social area that provides seating for up to six people with a bay window. In addition to that, the social area comes incorporated with eight drawers for storage and bookshelves for added convenience and style. If required, this area can also be converted into a full-size bed, making it perfect for guests.
Speaking of sleeping space, the tiny house features a loft. Offering privacy and plenty of storage, the loft sleeps a couple. The loft area comes accoutred with a privacy wall and cubbies, the latter ensuring that the dwellers have enough space for their belongings without compromising on comfort. Access to the loft is via a custom wood staircase with additional storage and a closet, adding to the home’s practical and space-saving design.
Another highlight of the Shadow tiny house is the kitchen. The kitchen features custom cabinetry paired with quartz countertops that provide ample storage and a luxurious feel. Other amenities include a 30-inch apron sink, a Furrion 2-burner electric cooktop, and a Furrion electric oven. Not to mention, a Whirlpool microwave and a 280-inch Magic Chef refrigerator that makes it easy to prepare and store meals.
For added convenience, the Shadow includes a 24-inch Equator washer/dryer combo unit to take care of laundry needs while saving space. Lastly, what really had me intrigued is the countertop extension leading to a brown maple bookcase that provides extra surface area for work or storage, while custom desk drawers add practicality to the space.

At the end of the house is the bathroom. A solid oak custom barn door provides entry to the bathroom, adding rustic charm to the modern design. Compact yet functional, the space features a striking hexagon tile accent wall in black and classic subway tile sidewalls in white, offering a modern touch to the space. The custom vanity cabinet with a side faucet sink complements the bathroom’s clean and minimalist aesthetic.
The Shadow tiny house is designed to be energy-efficient and comfortable in all seasons. The home meets its power and water demand via a standard RV-style hookup. As with all MTL homes, the price of the Shadow Tiny house is customizable based on the specific materials, appliances, finishes, and features you choose.
