As a pet parent, the urge to share cuddles with my dog while I work at home is irresistible. When I give in, it becomes difficult to hold and stroke my needy velcro dog with one hand while I try to balance my work with the other. SeatMate comes to the rescue for pet parents like me with its newest pet office chair that allows pets to hang out while we work without interruptions.
This innovative and first-of-its-kind pet furniture is born out of the personal experiences of designer Andrew Mueller. He and Jake Singer seasoned 12-year Industrial Designer developed SeatMate. The basic structure includes a built-in anti-slip ramp (angled at 23 degrees) that attaches to an elevated seat on a sturdy steel frame. The easy access ramp allows the pet to smoothly come and go from the seat without jumping, reducing strain on their joints. Especially important for older pets, or pets with mobility issues like Intervertebral disc disease (IVDD).
The ramp slides half-way underneath the cushioned seat and the other half folds down for a clutter-free design and easy transportation. The chair also has soft rubber wheels for easy transportation and anti-slip rubber feet to protect your floors. With the SeatMate pet office chair, you worry less about being disturbed and enjoy quality time with your furbaby lounging on its designated throne. The chair addresses challenges pet owners and their furry friends may face while sharing a common space.
The pet chair can fit small and medium-sized dogs and all cats and supports pets weighing up to 50 lbs. To complement your interior, the pet-friendly chair is available in four subtle colors in a boucle or faux fur fabric and has a machine-washable seat cushion cover. The fabric is made for long-term use, the fabrics are also scratch-resistant.
The pet chair has reached over 200 million people on social media and is now available to purchase on Kickstarter. Preorder for a limited time at a discounted price of $235, and sit with your pet by your side all day in your home office or elsewhere in the house.
