Founded in 1955, Italy-based Ceramica Flaminia is known globally for manufacturing ceramic products for bathroom. The firm keeps collaborating with some of the world’s best known designers, and this time they have turned to young and talented designer Elena Salmistraro for their latest Spire+ project.
The collaboration results in a line of countertop washbasins defined by a distinctive double conical and asymmetrical shape evoking natural and organic elements, like a seashell. As the name implies, the main idea revolves around a spiral structure and you can see in the pictures that the Spire+ washbasin features a rippled structure and a broader rim.
In comparison to the older Spire washbasin, the new version is distinguished by a three-dimensional decoration on the surface that makes it look like a seashell in the bathroom. The wide, varying size edges of the basin appear different per the point of view and are main highlight of the design.
The collection is a fusion of the designer’s stylistic creativity and the manufacturer’s extensive experience working with ceramics. The designer envisioned to transform the basin into a sculptural object that takes the center of the bathroom and it does beautifully.

The washbasins are designed to get the sculptural quality that emphasizes the beauty of ceramic. The new Spire+ washbasin with ceramic relief is available in both round and oval shapes. It was also showcased at Salone del Mobile 2022.
