Karakter, a Danish design company has come up with a couple of new Scarpa chairs. Created by the Italian designer duo of Afra and Tobia Scarpa in the 1960s – the 925 Scarpa lounge chair and the 121 Scarpa dining chair are two new entrants to the collection offered by Karakter. The first impressions are good as they look modern, comfortable and elegant at the same time. Both the chairs have a peculiar keyhole-shaped design on the backrest that also looks like an inverted U.
Talking about the 925 Scarpa lounge chair, it boasts a firm and sturdy wooden frame and creates a beautiful contrast with the leather-covered seat and the backrest. The anatomy of the lounge chair comes out beautifully with its natural elasticity and cantilevered backrest. This gives an opulent, comforting appeal and brings out the elegance in the wooden furniture with leather upholstery. It can be used at home, office, or hotel lounge section.
121 Scarpa dining chair has a design that complements both traditional and modern interiors. The furniture piece is shaped with plywood and is covered with European leather in a fine finish. The seat and back are connected by bolts to crosspieces in the center for great comfort while you enjoy your meal at the dining table. These well-crafted chairs can bring charm to dining tables of any shape and size.

The design of these chairs was originally inspired by a sketch that was made by Tobia’s father and they have got a new life in Karakter’s new collection. The distinctive feature between both the chairs is that the lounge chair is wider and gives a relaxing sitting posture while the dining chair is narrower and upright. Both serve their purpose in the truest sense.
Scarpa chairs are available in colors including black, red, brown and cognac. I feel they look inviting and can be a great addition to any indoor space.
