Ohio’s custom tiny house builder Modern Tiny Living (MTL) is one of my favorite manufacturers in America. With a knack for providing incredibly personalized micro-dwellings within a downsized construction, MTL has amassed a giant client base and popularity. Other than making special homes for its customers, the company is known to introduce iconic models now and then. Recently, it unveiled its first gooseneck tiny house called the Honeylion. Next is the Sangja tiny house, which optimizes downsized living in a brilliantly designed 28-foot configuration.
The latest take on MTL’s Catalina model, the Sangja measures 28-foot-long and 8.5-foot-wide. It makes the most use of its compact space and fits a big kitchen, one bedroom on the main floor and one on the loft, and a huge bathroom with a freestanding bathtub. Now I am big on bathtubs. Any dwelling outfitted with a bathtub, especially the freestanding ones, wins my vote.
The best part is the compact house not only benefits from the features seen in the original Catalina but embraces a fresh color palette. It has a similar dark and moody exterior as its predecessor but the inside features many unseen accents ideal for a modern home. A skylight above the living area, for instance, is also a nice addition.
The main floor bedroom is built at one end into an alcove with a big window and a pocket door. It is a snug setup with a built-in bed and storage underneath; you can curl up with a good book and a cup of your choice of poison. Above the space, a loft bedroom for two is designed with a privacy wall.
The living room seems to be squeezed into the spare space between the kitchen and the bedroom. It is an L-shaped arrangement with storage drawers beneath to optimize it further.

The kitchen, while minimalistic, packs all the necessities. There is a breakfast bar opposite the cooking station. Next to the kitchen is the spa bathroom with high ceilings. This is the highlight feature of the micro-dwelling. It features a freestanding tub, shower, vanity sink, washer/dryer unit, composting toilet, custom cabinets, and honeycomb tiles all over the space.
The pricing of the gorgeous Sangja tiny house is unknown, but MTL mentions the starting price for the Catalina model is $130,000. Admittedly, the Sangja is far more beautiful and modern than the original rustic design. So what are you waiting for? Get your hands on this stunning home.
