Relaxing on a beach is a common habit of people all around the world. It’s the space where you bask in the sun, play with water and sand, plus explore your creativity by piling sand into various shapes and figures. In celebration of National Sandcastle Day, Booking.com wants you to take this enjoyment to the next level.
They are currently offering a once-in-a-lifetime chance to stay in a sandcastle located at the Luna Park in Coney Island, Manhattan. Standing at 2.4-meter tall, 7-meter long and wide, this livable structure is built from almost 100 tons of sand by famous sand sculptor Matt Long. Thrillist says that the base of the structure is made of plywood that prevents the sand from collapsing down (after all safety comes first).

The sand mansion includes amenities like seating, lights, and a double bed for guests to stay comfortably. There is also a bathroom so guests will not have to run to a public toilet. Moreover, guests can enjoy dinner on the Coney Island Boardwalk, or they can make a visit to Luna Park and Coney Island Cyclone Roller Coaster, participate in sunrise beach yoga, eat Nathan’s famous hotdogs, and explore more places.
This custom designed sand mansion makes a great Instagrammable beach location. It is available for a limited time and can accommodate up to two guests. Reservations for the sandcastle open on August 22, with overnight stays fixed for August 23 and 24.
Booking.com keeps running such campaigns. You might remember the French cottage made from 100-percent chocolate, which was also offered for stay for a limited period last year.
