Just weeks ago I spoke with Jerry Terry, CEO of Decathlon Tiny Homes, about the future of the tiny house movement. During the chat, he mentioned that he is working on a model that might be his and April Terry’s (lead designer) best build to date. The secret is now out, as the Texas-based company has recently unveiled the Sancho Lodge tiny house on wheels. Named after the resident pet dog, Sancho, the house takes inspiration from Decathlon’s Athena model.
The mobile home is built on a triple-axle trailer and measures 32 feet long and 8.6 feet wide. The tiny house boasts cedar finishing with Tricorn black, Fawn bronze, and Serene blue color on the exterior, while the interior walls are painted white, as is the case with most Decathlon Tiny Homes models.
The tiny house features a living room, kitchen, a main-floor bedroom, and a bathroom. The interior features plenty of furnishing, resulting in the space being storage-friendly. Visitors first enter the living room with a sleeper sofa that has USB ports and cup holders. The sofa can be pulled out to sleep one person with ease. A Blue Ridge Mini Split AC unit above the sofa keeps the space cool in summer, and numerous windows across the dwelling provide natural light and ventilation.
Adjacent to the living room is the kitchen. It includes a series of cabinets, floating shelves, a pantry, an overhanging bar, and a couple of stools. The countertop next to it is best suited for cooking and related activities. Above the countertop, floating shelves are ideal for hosting whiskey bottles and other decorative items. Not to mention a workstation sink that serves the dual purpose of cutting vegetables and draining water.

There is no dearth of appliances in the tiny home as Jerry Terry and his team have added a cooktop and microwave to the kitchen. However, the biggest highlight among the range of appliances is the fridge that is cleverly disguised as a cabinet thanks to a cabinet door attached to it.
The kitchen leads to the bathroom with a washer/dryer unit, shower enclosure, and a standard flush toilet. Above the bathroom is a storage loft for additional items.
On the opposite side of the bathroom, a small door opens into the bedroom, which accommodates two people. The bedroom has built-in storage space and dual closets that offer plenty of wardrobe space to the dweller. The Sancho Lodge tiny house relies on power via standard RV-style hookup.
