Samsung has been changing modern kitchens with its smart appliances for years now. Adding another upgrade to its Samsung smart refrigerators, the South Korean tech giant is set to boost the covetousness factor of its Bespoke fridges – including the refrigerator with a 9-inch AI Home screen that debuts at CES 2025 – by letting you shop for groceries. Samsung has partnered with grocery delivery service Instacart to make this vision a reality using AI-powered grocery management.
The smart refrigerators will be able to detect when you are running low on groceries (inside the fridge) and include those items in your Instacart app. The only thing you need to do is to go to the app and order what you need right from your fridge’s touchscreen display. According to the company, this convenient grocery shopping service will be available on 2025 Bespoke refrigerator models with screens.
This new feature uses Samsung Vision AI food recognition tech. Samsung Vision AI food recognition currently takes inventory of up to 37 frequently used items, including fruits and vegetables, which can be expanded by the user manually via the Samsung Food app.
It recognizes the items in your fridge and detects which ones are running low. It then uses Instacart’s product matching API and suggests edibles from the service that you might need. Once the fridge sorts out that part and makes a list, you can directly place an order from its onboard display.

The AI-powered grocery management system is a godsend for people who are so engrossed in work that they don’t notice they need something until it is gone. It will save you time and ensure your essential edibles are always in stock. This feature pairs well with the latest Samsung Bespoke smart refrigerators, including the 32-inch Family Hub Plus and the newly launched 9-inch AI home display models.
The new Instacart feature will roll out later this year via a firmware update for Samsung fridges with AI Vision Inside. It will enable a convenient grocery shopping experience for Samsung fridge users.
