The latest generation of residential heat pumps powered through atmospheric air has been quite popular for the past few years. The consumer electronics giant Samsung Electronics is also contributing to the trend as it has announced the expansion of its air-to-water heat pumps in North America. The new product features a slim design and AI-powered functionality.
Samsung will introduce two types of Slim Fit EHS ClimateHub indoor units to the market. The first one named ClimateHub Mono has an integrated water tank, while the other one named Hydro Unit Mono is a wall-mounted unit without a water tank. There is also a third model named EHS Mono R32 HT Quiet outdoor unit that uses R32 refrigerant and runs on low noise as low as 35dB.
The indoor Slim Fit EHS ClimateHub unit features a 7-inch screen that allows users to intuitively control the temperature and settings. Furthermore, users can monitor the status and energy usage of connected solar photovoltaic (PV) using the zone overview, as well as control other SmartThings-connected appliances.
Measuring 600mm and 350mm in depth respectively, the ClimateHub Mono and the Hydro Unit Mono blend into any home setting owing to their slim-fit design. Despite the slim form, both units include components like magnetic filters, three-way valves, and an expansion vessel for space heating as standard features.

For indoor units, Samsung has designed a large heat transfer area in the tank coil and three layers of insulation to reduce the tank heat loss. As for the outdoor unit, it is equipped with the new Scroll Compressor and Flash Injection Technology for efficient heating performance even in temperatures as low as -30 degrees Celsius. These air to water heat pumps support AI Energy Mode to actively reduce energy use by up to 17 percent.
First launched in 2009, the Samsung EHS lineup equipped with AI Home will be present at CES 2025 and will be available for purchase in North America later this year.
