Every piece of furniture has something appealing to it. They not only cater to all the functional needs of the user but add a certain charm to the space as well. Designed by London-based designer Philippe Malouin for New Zealand design house Resident, the Sacha Chair is a uniquely crafted piece with a folded backrest. The Sacha is draped from head to toe in an exquisite upholstery Hallingdal 65 fabric by Kvadrat.
It strikes a visually graphic tone and revels in a stunning geometric shape, with a uniquely folded backrest that underlines the ergonomics. Its folded backrest adds to the chair’s distinctive structure and encourages a healthy posture by positioning the back at the right angle, offering perfect lumber support.
The chair being fully upholstered from head to toe is somewhat of a new element. Malouin added his personalized touch by using a single material for the upholstery in a monochromatic pop of color. This visionary work transcends the use of typical envelopes in the most tangible way. Not to mention the chair is minimalistic and displays a geometric profile.

The idea of a single upholstery stemmed from the limitation of comfort that regular wooden chairs bring when they are used for a longer period. With that idea in mind, the chair is designed to prioritize comfort and relaxation. Considering the versatility, the chair is configured to be utilized either as a dining or side chair.
The Sacha Chair comes in a variety of colors such as blue, dark grey, light grey, red, and yellow. It epitomizes splendid craftsmanship that is fathomable through a thoughtful design. With its multidisciplinary use, the chair can adapt to any setting be it commercial or domestic.
