In recent years, RV makers have focused more on maximizing views by prioritizing windows in the design. Rooftop tent brands are following the same trend, with Inspired Overland’s rooftop tent with a transparent stargazing roof being a prime example. Germany-based Roof Space has also joined in with the new Roof Space 4 model. Touted as the first hard-shell rooftop tent with Double Panorama Mode, it features fully openable two sides that allow users to make a great connection with the outdoors. And when privacy is needed, simply zip the panels close and enjoy a cozy sleep under the stars.
Just like other rooftop tents from the brand, this model sets up in less than 30 seconds with a single flip. For a more open feel, you can unzip the panels on both sides, turning it into a rooftop cabana with dual decks. Just imagine the gentle breeze and panoramic views from up there; it will make a perfect start or a pleasant end to your day.
Building on the success of the predecessor, Roof Space 2, the company has built a bigger model with extra storage and space to sleep 4-6 people. The tent offers a sleeping area of 80.7 x 78.7 inches and 54 inches of headroom inside. The mattress comes with an integrated anti-condensation mesh and a washable quilted cover. The rooftop tent has more sleeping area than a Californian king-size mattress and storage space at the head and foot of the bed.
The tent case is made from 5052 aluminum and stainless steel. There are two built-in redundant stability systems to ensure durability. A telescopic ladder quick attachment system makes getting in and out a breeze. The overall weight of the case including the tent and mattress is 196 lbs.
Suitable for trucks and bigger cars, the Roof Space 4 interior measures 98.4 inches long, 82.7 inches wide, and 51.2 inches high, while the packed measurements are 87 inches long, 53.5 inches wide, and 9.4 inches high.
Roof Space 4 is designed with a motive to let people camp with their families. If you wish to get one, you can pre-order it for a discounted price of $4,140, 10 percent down from the retail price of $4,600, and get it delivered in April 2025.
