For a guy like Joao Teixeira who is still in his salad days, to make an ostentatious statement like, “Design is an attitude” would meet critic from veteran designers who have worked in industry for years and still consider themselves to be in learning stage. However, the Portuguese designer has proven his mettle over past few years with designs like Igloo coffee table and Shelter wooden desk, and has earned bragging rights to proffer his definition of design.
Showcasing yet another flamboyant design, Joao introduces his render fan base to ‘Revolver’ wall-mounted desk. “For a while now that I’ve been wanting to design such a product, to help users enhance their small living areas with a practical and playful solution,” said Joao. Revolver is essentially a gorgeous-looking small wall-mounted desk, with ample storage space to house small scale items.
Driving inspiration from Matryoshka (Russian tea dolls), the desk feature corner drawers that open like a Matryoshka doll in order to create a wider working area and other features. There are a total of three drawers that one can play around and store items inside.
These corner drawers open and close with a swiveling and spinning system hence it is being dubbed Revolver. “The system allows user to display multiple layouts and scenarios for any specific task by using, three drawers,” adds Joao. It’s totally up to the user whether the person wants to keep the drawers closed or open.

The flat top of the Revolver desk can accommodate a laptop and a book while underneath it are the rotating drawers that can house nitty-gritty items, like chargers, keys, pens, etc. Once these corner drawers are opened, they reveal the storage space and other functions and can be retracted back after use.
The rounded corners of the top look sophisticated and blend seamlessly with the drawer system. “There are many cool and interesting projects out there so I wanted to make sure I could bring something fresh to the table before anything else,” the Portuguese designer concludes.
