Take on the Empire’s most-feared weapon and recreate the iconic moment of Star Wars Death Star Trench Run-inspired cake from a galaxy far, far away. Inspired by the Lego Star Wars trench run diorama, Redittor jiggleyourpuffs96, Evie Rees, crafted an impressive birthday cake, which is every fan’s dream.
The elaborate treat was entirely edible, except for the little spaceships and their stands. It perfectly recreates the gripping scene from Star Wars: A New Hope (Episode IV), where Darth Vader’s TIE Advanced fighter and 2 TIE fighters are in hot pursuit of Luke Skywalker’s X-wing. To be honest, it’d be amazing to gobble down part of Death Star.
The nostalgia-evoking Star Wars cake used real LEGO bricks as molds and the LEGOs were made out of fondant. Tiny blue pieces were used from assorted candy sprinkles. It took two days to make this cake.
Rees made the fondant decorations first, then the cake was baked on the second day. One side of the decadent treat features Victoria sponge cake and the other is carrot cake. The meticulously crafted cake featured a lot of pieces, which were textured by pressing modeling icing alongside the tops and bottoms of LEGO bricks to craft that freshly built space station look.
Many fans have tried and created various iterations of Star Wars-inspired foods ranging from savory dips to sweet, crumbly cakes. If you are somewhat a wiz in the kitchen and a fan of the great sci-fi franchise, whip yourself a Star Wars Death Star Trench Run-inspired cake. Let us know how it goes.
