MDF Italia commissioned Spanish designer and architect Ramón Esteve to design its 2020 furniture collection. Dubbed Arpa, the furniture collection is inspired by a Harp – a musical instrument with a number of individual strings to create different sounds. It includes a sofa, armchair and a low table, but it’s the specifically designed Arpa sofa and armchair that grabs most attention.
Both the two-seater Arpa sofa and armchair combine stability of orthogonal frame with comfort and softness of cushions. The stainless steel frame is slim and minimalist and is finished with epoxy powder coating, which makes the furniture durable for the outdoors. At first sight, the upholstered seating seems to be floating over the structure itself.
The back and seat cushions of these furniture pieces are made of Dryfeel (draining polyurethane) of varied densities, wrapped in siliconed hollow fiber bound in polyester. There are also white polyester cords at the back and at the sides of the sofa, adding a harp-like appearance to the design.

The Arpa low table also boasts a minimalist metal profile along with ceramic top. It is available in four different colors to compliment various interiors. The Arpa furniture collection is designed to be an aesthetical masterpiece that is functional and comfortable.
