New Zealand’s Elite Tiny Homes has just put the finishing touches to a new model that looks similar to its Fantail tiny house from the outside but has a different interior layout. Dubbed Phoenix tiny house, the mobile home offers a relatively spacious living room and a capacious bathroom, catering to those who prefer space and functionality.
Coming in at 26 feet long and 8.6 feet wide, the tiny home rests securely on a double-axle galvanized trailer with electric brakes and a removable drawbar. It’s clad in two-tone corrugated metal and wood, and is fully insulated on the ceiling, floor and walls. The exterior also comprises a gable roof that optimizes space and ensures efficient rainwater runoff. Not to mention, an external shower that will, help you clean your feet and hands before you step inside the dwelling.
A significant chunk of the Phoenix tiny house’s ground floor is given over to its living room, which boasts a high ceiling, and a gaggle of windows and a French door that allows light to permeate the interior. The living despite being furnished with a sofa, side table and a bench maintains plenty of walking space.
This area joins into the kitchen, which has quite a bit of storage space. It features stone-engineered benchtops, custom cabinetry, a dimmer light switch and exquisite brushed rose gold fixtures. The kitchen is equipped with a range of appliances including a fridge/freezer, washing machine, propane-powered four burner oven, and space for a dishwasher to be installed. At the far end of the home lies the bathroom, which looks pretty snug and contains a shower, sink and a composting toilet. Akin to the living room, the bathroom is quite capacious and doesn’t feel cramped at all.

A storage-integrated staircase leads up to the sole sleeping loft. This is a typical tiny house-style bedroom and doesn’t have enough headroom to stand up straight. It also includes integrated storage space. As standard, the Phoenix tiny house garners its power from an RV-style hookup, though off-grid functionality can be added at extra cost. Currently priced at NZ $105,000 ($62,550), the micro home is a wonderful investment given New Zealand is getting expensive by the day.
