After successful launches like Screeneo S4 and the Screeneo U5, Philips has designed Screeneo UL5 smart projector, a promising option for those wanting a portable laser projector. Such projectors are famous because they have a wide viewing angle in a theatre-like environment at home or even outdoors. The Philips Screeneo UL5 smart projector has been engineered with Texas Instruments DLP technology. The USP of the projector is its portability, measuring only 94 x 86.6 x 206 mm and having a gross weight of only 1 kg.
Not much is known about the new ultra-short throw projector but some known features are enough to get excited about. The device will feature a triple laser light source for up to 550 ANSI lumens brightness and will throw images up to 120 inches wide which is a great feat for a short projector. Android-powered Philips Screeneo UL5 smart projector will also boast an AI-driven auto-focus lens.
The user only needs to set up the projector at a distance of 20 inches to get a 100-inch big screen on the projection surface. Alternatively, the unique design of the projector will allow users to project on the floor surface as well. The Screeneo UL5 has an ultra-short throw ratio of 0:23:1 that allows it to cast this much from such a short distance. The device features dual-band Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth connectivity. Users can also connect gadgets using ports such as HDMI 2.1, USB-A, and USB-C.

Undoubtedly the Philips Screeneo UL5 smart projector will allow users to enjoy a theatre-like spectacle without worrying about the size of the room. It gives a great immersive experience with vibrant and lifelike visuals. The triple RGB laser technology can deliver a wider color gamut. The introductory video, shared by the company on YouTube advocates about the projector’s vivid and accurate colors. It also boasts that with an accurate 60Hz refresh rate and low input lag, the device provides an optimized gaming experience. Since it has the LuminOS by Philips (on top of the native Android OS) you get all apps in one place.
More details about the Philips Screeneo UL5 smart projector will be known when its crowdfunding campaign is launched on Indiegogo. It is unclear for now how much it is going to cost but interested buyers who sign up to receive mail will be offered a 40% discount as per the launch-day deal.
