The very first collaboration between Italian modern furniture company B&B Italia and French designer Philippe Starck has resulted in the ‘Oh, It Rains’ outdoor furniture collection. It comprises a sofa and an armchair, both featuring unusual shape and function as well as the attention-grabbing name! These furniture pieces are designed to last longer even after unexpected usage.
For this project, Philippe Starck drove inspiration from outdoor furniture of the nomad era, including the desert tents and field equipment, colonial colors, lightweight materials and shapes.
The generous backrest is the main highlight of the Oh, It Rains outdoor furniture collection. It is not just a simple design element but acts as a wall or a partition to create an intimate and private setting. Furthermore, it can be folded down to cover up the seat and cushions.
The collection uses raffia-effect waterproof fabrics combined with shaped polyurethane and aluminum frame. Personalization is done through a combination of fabrics on the backrest. The water-repellent nature of the fabric subtly suits its name. In addition, optional cushions can be added for extra comfort and to add a vibrant look to the furniture.

This outdoor furniture collection can be covered with any type of outdoor fabric present in the B&B Italia collection. There is also an option to choose a model with an integrated side table.
