Australia’s one of the oldest & most iconic vintner Penfolds has unveiled a limited edition record player console to commemorate the 70th anniversary of its flagship Grange wine. Its founder Max Schubert was a big fan of music, which is the main inspiration behind this one-of-a-kind record player console with secret wine storage.
Penfolds has collaborated with audio furniture brand SYMBOL Audio to create these limited edition consoles. A single craftsman at SYMBOL painstakingly handcrafts a single unit in about 100 hours. Each cabinet thus sports a midcentury modern aesthetic with immaculate use of wood and clean lines.
There is a hidden Penfolds-themed record player in the center of the cabinet while speakers and storage compartments are included in the design. Furthermore, the automatic interior lights make it more convenient to use.
There is a rare ‘White Capsule’ release Grange magnum duo from the 2010 and 2017 vintage within the hidden wine console compartment, along with a suite of luxury accessories including a hand-blown Grange Decanter crafted by leading Australian glass artist and designer, Nick Mount.

This unique record player console combines time-honored analog electronics with digital technology to deliver quality output. The company has created only seven pieces of this exclusive console that pays homage to the all-in-one consoles from the 1950s – the same decade when Grange was first introduced by Max Schubert.
