I am a cat parent and if you are one too, you already know how challenging it’s to keep up with the moods of our dear feline friends. They are playful and explorative. However, cats are also natural predators so they are impelled by their wild instincts at times. They often bring gifts for us in the form of what they have caught. It can be a mouse, an insect, or even a bird. Although, it’s a hassle to clear the mess when the cat brings any prey home. So how do you deal with the unwanted gifts that your loved pet brings home?
A team of engineers and innovators from Zurich, Switzerland have created the world’s most intelligent cat door that prevents your feline from bringing home prey. Well, it has some other interesting features too. The smart cat door with prey detection is something that prevents cat owners from knowing when their cat has got a prey home.
The primary function of the Pawly door is achieved in four simple steps. Identification is the first step in which the camera scans the environment and identifies when the cat approaches the door. In the second step, AI algorithms analyze the cat’s face to find out if it is carrying any prey. Verification of the cat is the third step, in which the RFID sensor verifies the RFID tag. The final and fourth step is a notification shared with the cat owner via an app whenever the cat tries to enter with prey in its mouth or any unwanted animal trying to trespass.

The smart cat door has advanced features such as microchip scanning and lost cat recognition. Pawly keeps prey and other small animals outside with smart detection. It uses face identification so that when the cat is holding prey in and tries to enter through Pawly, a notification is received on the Pawly app and the user has the control to access it. This means even if you are not home you can control your cat’s access and exit to the home. You can also set timers to keep your cat indoors when needed. The app has ‘Lost Cat’ feature which uses the community of Pawly door users in the area to spot the missing cat.
The app also provides activity analysis, hunting analysis and lifestyle suggestions. In a nutshell, you can come to know about the entire activity of your cat whenever it leaves or enters the home. The chip recognition technology ensures that only authorized cats are provided with access. Additionally, the night vision allows full functioning even at nighttime and is another great feature of Pawly cat door.
Coming to the installation part, this smart cat door can be easily integrated in just 3 steps after you have created the desired hole in the door. It takes less than two minutes to install. The design is functional and discrete so you can install it in windows, walls, or even garages apart from the entry door. The cat door fits almost every cat and is suitable for felines up to 7 kg. If you already have a cat door in place at your home, you can eaisly upgrade to Pawly as standard dimensions have been used by the designers.
