Pangissimo, a Boston-based startup founded by four engineering students from Boston University has come up with its first product SIMO, a portable speaker designed to offer surround sound effects at an affordable price. Elevate your watching experience on a laptop or while chilling on a beach with amazing possibilities and sound of the SIMO.
Each SIMO speaker consists of four magnetically attached modular sub units that can be combined together for maximum volume, or used separately for surround sound experience.
There are four 5W speakers and four 5W subwoofers to offer a frequency range of 60-20,000 Hz. It has four audio channels – front, back, right and left to create a surround sound environment.
Setting up the SIMO surround sound speaker is quite easy thanks to the built-in Bluetooth and AUX connectivity. This wireless surround speaker with fabric cover will seamlessly blend in modern interiors. It also comes with a convenient leather handle that accommodates all four speaker units. There is even an Omni-directional microphone that can be helpful in classrooms and business meetings.
With a 2000 mAh built-in battery, it can play songs for up to 8 hours. Another interesting feature is that users can simultaneously charge all the speaker units at once.
The SIMO surround sound speaker is currently being funded on Kickstarter, you can back the campaign starting at $175 to get one in December 2019.
SIMO has already gone well past its goal of $20,000 with seven days still to go (at the time of writing). After reaching the initial fundraising goal, a new black version of the SIMO speaker is also launched on Kickstarter.
