Australian industrial designer Nick Rennie designs products for famous design brands including Ligne Roset, Normann, and Copenhagen, and Porro. He has again designed Sway floor lamp for Australian brand ‘Made By Pen’ which appears to be a playful addition into any space. As the name suggests – it gets into a unique swaying motion when knocked or moved by someone. This self-balancing cordless lamp consists of two spherical parts – a base and LED bulb, interconnected through a thin carbon rod. Due to the weighted base, the lighting part swings from side to side without falling over the floor, just like a Japanese Daruma doll.
The Sway floor lamp is chargeable, and can be easily moved to different places. Its bottom part is made of steel and the lamp’s head is made of silicone. This lamp provides elegant light, and at the same time brings a note of playfulness to space. It is designed with the aim to serve as a distinctive floor lamp that suits different interior spaces and provides a new way of interaction with its users.
