Netatmo, the smart home company well known for its security cameras, smoke alarms, and the Homekit-compatible video doorbell has launched its new Smart Door Lock and Keys at CES 2020. Unlike most of the smart locks in the market, it comes with three physical Smart Keys with NFC technology to unlock the door, just by inserting in. Additionally, the Netatmo Security app is the all-time-key that connects to the smart lock via Bluetooth. It can also be used to control all the features.
The keys are inimitable and customizable. In case of a lost or stolen key, you can easily deactivate that particular key with the companion mobile app and reactivate if you find it later. Users can also send an instant key invitation to the guests that expires after a set time. It is powered by four AAA batteries that can make it run for about two years. There is also a backup micro-USB port to reactivate the lock in case the batteries die.

Made of stainless steel, the Netatmo smart door lock can be fitted to doors with Euro cylinder locks with thickness less than 10 cm. It is also compatible with Apple HomeKit so you can schedule routines, with the opening/closing of your door. Users need no subscription to utilize all these features of the lock.
The lock is not fully automatic as one needs to unlock it manually, even after unlocking with the NFC keys or the mobile app. Pocket-Lint noted, the lock doesn’t include a motor and thus will need manual assistance for unlocking fully.
Netatmo hasn’t revealed any details about the price and availability of the Smart Door Lock and Keys yet.
