No other tiny house manufacturer in Europe has garnered as much acclaim as Baluchon has. Interestingly, the French tiny house maker only creates custom tiny houses, contrary to building a catalog of models, which most tiny house builders have been doing for the past many years. This time around, Baluchon has designed another custom micro dwelling dubbed the Moulinsart tiny house on wheels.
The single-level dwelling boasts durability and efficient living, courtesy of its robust exterior and elegant interior made with attention to detail. Based on a double-axle trailer, the Moulinsart tiny house measures 24 feet in length and seems like an ideal choice for those seeking mobility without compromising on comfort.
While the makers haven’t disclosed the material used for construction, based on the pictures and history of material choices Baluchon goes with, we can safely assume that Baluchon has used cedar and aluminum for the exterior finishing. The interior is thoughtfully insulated with cotton, linen, and hemp. The combination ensures a cozy atmosphere regardless of the season. This eco-friendly approach not only provides excellent thermal performance but also contributes to a healthier indoor environment.
The biggest USP of the mobile home is its windows. Though the house is accoutered with a myriad of glazing options, it’s the large trapeze gable window that stands out among the lot. “The large trapeze gable window offers a beautiful projection towards the exterior environment, wherever you are in the house,” states the makers. It not only floods the interior with natural light but also adds to the aesthetics of the house.
The tiny house packs a living room that doubles as a bedroom, a full-size kitchen, and a bathroom. The living room features a modular sofa that can be converted into a bed. Facing the sofa is a lovely wooden fold-out table that doubles as a compact shelf. During the day, the dwellers can utilize the space as a fully furnished living room, while at night the space can be transformed into a cozy bedroom with ample storage options around. Whatever the case, the tiny house looks both aesthetic and functional.
Adjacent to the two-in-one-bedroom lounge is the Farmhouse-style kitchen. It consists of wooden frames that add a rustic touch to the interior. The kitchen is equipped with breathable cabinets and a countertop and features an array of storage options. The interior space also includes a rustic wood-burning stove placed between the living room area and the kitchen, thus adding a vintage touch to the house. The kitchen also features an induction cooktop, oven, and sink. Facing the kitchen’s countertop is a dining table that can seat two people with ease.

Lastly, we have the bathroom. It features a toilet, shower, vanity, and a couple of floating shelves. Baluchon hasn’t listed the tiny home on their website so it’s unclear if it’s off-grid capable. But usually, such homes draw power via a standard RV-style hookup, so I assume that is the case with Moulinsart tiny house on wheels as well. Overall, the tiny house is an elegant, functional, and stellar choice for someone seeking life on the road and ‘off the grid,’ maybe!
