Duffy London, you may know for its bespoke sculptural furniture, has introduced its latest limited edition Monument Valley coffee table. Featuring a layered design on marble, the table can be an enthralling centerpiece for any living space. The designer reimagines the American desert landscape that appears inverted in the table.
Each table is individually carved from a single block of marble which ensures that every piece is unique in itself. The layered rock effect is achieved through traditional sculpture techniques. The table is finished with sandpaper and emery cloths to enhance the smoothness and shine of the marble.
The iconic sandstone rock formations of Monument Valley and an Americana-tinted view of the American West were inspirations for this dramatic, layered design. It is sculpted in a way that represents a desert mirage of the original sandstone buttes, says the designer Chris Duffy.
