Italian company Molteni&C Dada has taken the wraps off its first preview of 2022 collections with Living Box, slated to be exhibited at Milan Design Week 2022. Appearing as a large kitchen island at the first glance, it is conceived as an independent item of furniture that can be used in any room of the house but is mainly suitable for the living room.
Starting from the concept of a typical architectural project such as a building or a stage for concerts; Vincent Van Duysen has designed the Living Box as a household object on a smaller dimensional scale. It has particular features but it can be used for varied purposes as per user requirements.
“Living Box is distinguished by its different use of materials and its refined details. Very present and graphic, it’s steeped in the tradition of Italian craftsmanship and it’s definitely a key piece in one’s living room.” Vincent Van Duysen explained.
According to the press images available, the Living Box is a contemporary piece of furniture with a marble countertop and storage underneath. There are also built-in lights to illuminate the storage space. The countertop can be used to showcase different décor pieces while the space underneath is ideal to keep your favorite books and other belongings.

As described by the maker, it is a new type of furnishing that offers innovative functions and is usable anywhere in the house. I am assuming, it can be used as a TV cabinet in the living room or a kitchen island, or even a bar counter. I could be wrong but I am keeping my finger crossed till it is officially revealed at Milan Furniture Fair 2022.
