A debate often stirs between me and my pals regarding the future of housing. While I am a firm advocate of mobile homes, my friends are of the opinion that we’d still be living in close quarters and flats, no matter the time or circumstances. I don’t outrightly believe that flats would get outdated or every person would downsize, but I strongly feel that tiny houses on wheels as permanent dwellings might be the future we are marching towards.

Speaking of the uncertain future, we’d want an abode that allows us to work and live simultaneously. One such micro-dwelling that caters to these needs is Modal 00. Redefining low-cost and minimal, yet high-end living; Modal delivers modern prefab ADUs straight to your backyard, and this tiny house is no exception.

This isn’t your regular tiny house – and it definitely lags wheels – albeit, I still back myself to go with a headline that labels it a tiny house. The reasoning, unlike other ADUs it offers a studio space, kitchen, and most importantly a bathroom too, which is something we don’t see in a conventional ADU.

Measuring 26 feet in length (a lot more than many tiny houses) Modal 00 is a single-room floor plan designed with total versatility and simplicity in mind. Offering 351 square-feet space, Modal 00 has a kitchen that includes Soft-close kitchen cabinetry, a four-burner electric stove and oven, a dishwasher, and a garbage disposal.

Then we have the living room accoutered with a sofa and a center table. Above the sofa lies a television that can be used for binge-watching from the comforts of a bed facing the sofa. The ADUs bathroom faces the kitchen. This full-size bathroom has a toilet, sink, and shower.

Efficient LED lighting keeps the kitchen bright, while windows allow a fresh breeze to pass inside. Overall, Modal OO is a practical space that’s versatile for working and equally compatible as a full-time living space. No wonder, this tiny house carries a steep price tag of $240,000!
