The Michelin Modular Sofa System is a beautifully crafted furniture that combines simple forms and materials displaying its designer’s work ethos. Missana, a Valencia handcrafted furniture and upholstery company in association with MUT Design Studio, has crafted the sofa as an illustration of its commitment to innovative design.
The Michelin modular sofa draws its inspiration from curves of human form and subtle folds of the skin showcasing movement and tactile allure through its design. Designers Alberto Sánchez and Eduardo Villalón have envisioned and crafted a modular sofa that could be aptly used in different settings without disrupting the existing layout.
The sofa system consists of two individual modules: a corner piece and a single seater proposing endless customization and adaptation to diverse interior setups. Blending comfort with trendy aesthetics, the Michelin sofa exhibits a sturdy structure displaying curves through angular folds. The robustness and symmetry of its structure are obtained using pinewood, plywood board, and tablex structure (fibreboard without any artificial adhesives).
The collection becomes even livelier owing to the vibrant upholstery which harmoniously adds a breeze of fresh air to enhance the existing décor of your home. Its low lacquered beech wooden legs are well hidden under its big form. The expansive cushions of the Michelin are comfortable and filled with foam CMHR which is high in resilience and is flame retardant.
