Revealed at CES 2025, the walking table Mi-Mo robot is built by Jizai, a Japan-based robotics company. The smart bot is their first model in the general-purpose AI robot, having the ability to think, act, and adapt on its own using visuals, audio, and movement indicators. Though it is still in the prototype stage, many futuristic additions are possible such as developing apps to expand its capabilities or adding arms to make it bigger, user-friendly, and more functional.
Mi-Mo robot walks around on six metal legs with pieces of real wood covering the portion of the legs and the tabletop. It moves like a living creature, nodding its lighted lamp in a quirky manner. Though made for general purposes, makers believe the robot to be a potential workforce in hospitals, communicating and bridging the gap between patients and medical staff. It can also assist in optimizing the workflow by engaging in simple tasks such as carrying medicines or other light supplies within the hospital.

Jizai CEO Yuki Ishikawa suggests that this walking robot is designed to look like a real piece of furniture with real wood. Hardware add-ons and attachments such as sensors are still a work in progress that’ll make it a futureproof interactive and cutting-edge design.
Yuki Ishikawa of Jizai is looking to offer the technology to hospitals and clinics. However, without being exclusive to only medical sectors, he proposes the idea of making Mi-Mo adaptable for offices and households, once it evolves from its tabletop version to a full-sized model. This tabletop version will cost around $3,500, while the full-sized model will come at around $30,000. We surely are looking forward to that!
